Join in the unique and fun experience of learning to communicate visually with Auslan (Australian sign language), the native language of the Australian Deaf community.

When enrolling, please double check your email address is entered correctly. Email is the primary means by which we will contact you about your course. Please monitor your junk folder for emails from the Deaf Society and if you do not receive an email about your course by at least the day before the scheduled start date, please contact us.

Courses will be confirmed once minimum enrolment numbers have been reached. Please contact the Deaf Society to confirm that your course will go ahead before committing to any affiliated expenses like childcare.

Minimum age
The minimum age to enrol is 16 years. Only enrolled parents or guardians may accompany students under 18. Please contact us for more information.

Centrelink concession cardholders are eligible for the concession rate of $160. To receive the concession rate, you must provide proof of current Centrelink concession, e.g. email or SMS a photo of your Centrelink concession card. Please phone or email us to organise payment. 

Cancellation policy
If a course is cancelled, you will receive a full refund. The following cancellations charges will apply for all written withdrawals received prior to course commencement;

  • 7 or more days prior to the course commencement date – no penalty (full refund)
  • 6 – 0 days prior to course commencement date is 100% of course fee

These guidelines apply to students enrolled through the Deaf Society, if you enrolled through a partner community college, please contact that college for more information.

The Deaf Society offers courses in collaboration with local community colleges. By enrolling in a course, you agree to our enrolment conditions and recognise that we may share basic student information with the relevant partner community college, to facilitate the delivery of the course.
